Tracking User’s Information System

The Challenge

Our customer ASTD (American Society for Training & Development), the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals, needs a solution that allows locations to submit updates to ASTD through an automated process that tracks progress through a defined workflow. Doing so will remove inefficiencies in the current manual process and cut down on data entry errors, etc. A result of collaboration with Softage specialists is tracking user’s information: TIMMSLite.

Solution Overview

TIMMS Lite is a system of tracking user’s information. It allows managers to check, modify and approve the changes. The system is developed for department managers to update users’ information in a database and for administrators who are checking the correctness of these changes to approve or decline them. Additionally, the system allows sending email notification with the results of the approval process.

There are three designations inside the system:

Role 1: This is the ASTD administrator, who can approve changes, edit changes, and read data for both the Chapter Reporting Services and TIMSS Lite.

Role 2: The chapter leader, who runs reports and submits changes via TIMSS Lite.

Role 3: This is a role for other chapter admins to run reports, and view address data via TIMSS database.
